English Language Arts

English Language Arts (ELA) focuses on developing essential language skills, including phonics, reading, writing, and speaking. Skills range from basic pencil control and alphabet recognition to independent reading and fluent conversation. Our teachers utilize various methods such as visual aids, hands-on activities, and technology to facilitate learning. The ELA program connects with our afternoon classes for HCIS graduates attending Korean public schools, providing continuous English education with native-speaking teachers.

영어 언어 예술 (ELA)은 필수 언어 기술 개발에 중점을 두며, 음운 인식, 읽기, 쓰기, 말하기를 포함합니다. 기술은 기본적인 연필 조정 및 알파벳 인식에서 독립적인 읽기와 유창한 대화까지 다양합니다. 우리 교사들은 시각 자료, 실습 활동, 기술을 활용하여 학습을 돕습니다. ELA 프로그램은 한국 공립학교에 다니는 HCIS 졸업생을 위한 오후 수업과 연결되어 있으며, 원어민 교사와 함께 지속적인 영어 교육을 제공합니다.

Theme Education

At HCIS, theme-based learning integrates multiple subjects around a central topic each month. For example, an "ocean" theme might involve math, literacy, and art projects like counting fish and crafting jellyfish. This interdisciplinary approach helps students make deeper connections between subjects and enjoy learning more than with traditional methods. It also offers opportunities to explore science, art, STEM, and societal concepts.

HCIS에서는 매달 특정 주제를 중심으로 여러 과목을 통합하는 주제 기반 학습을 진행합니다. 예를 들어, "바다" 주제는 물고기 세기와 같은 수학, 읽기 수업, 젤리피쉬 만들기와 같은 미술 프로젝트를 포함할 수 있습니다. 이러한 융합 교육은 학생들이 과목 간의 깊은 연결을 할 수 있도록 돕고, 전통적인 학습 방식보다 더 재미있게 느끼게 합니다. 또한, 과학, 예술, STEM, 사회 개념을 탐구할 기회를 제공합니다.

Center Time

Center time allows students to achieve specific learning goals through theme-based activities. Each week, teachers set up three to four centers, with students rotating in small groups. This encourages social interaction, leadership development, and hands-on learning. Activities cover areas such as fine motor skills, early math, literacy, art, STEM, and dramatic play, offering a diverse and engaging experience.

센터 타임은 주제 기반 활동을 통해 아동이 학습 목표를 달성하도록 돕습니다. 매주 3~4개의 센터가 준비되며, 소그룹으로 회전하면서 다양한 활동에 참여합니다. 이를 통해 사회적 상호작용, 리더십 개발, 실습 학습이 촉진되며, 세밀한 운동 능력, 수학, 읽기, 미술, STEM, 극놀이 등의 다양한 활동이 제공됩니다.

STEAM Education

STEAM education—integrating Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics—is crucial in kindergarten. It engages young learners with hands-on activities that stimulate curiosity and creativity.

Science: Simple experiments explore the natural world.
Technology: Introduction to basic tools and digital literacy.
Engineering: Building projects enhance critical thinking and problem-solving.
Arts: Creative activities foster imagination and fine motor skills.
